My Bio
Welcome to the dolehorse DA page.

This page is a way for us who love the breed dolehorse to share our horses with you.
The photos on this page are donated/borrowed from owners who want to promote the breed.

Here you can follow us and our horses and learn more and enjoy what we have to offer.

Short info about doles:

Doles are a Norwegian horsebreed from the 1800, a young breed.
It's said they were bred for the world war, when they needed strong, calm horses for battle, mixing small Norwegian mares with stallions from Denmark, England, and Germany. The Friserian is said to be one off the breeds the dole evolved from.

Later they were generally bred as forestry horses but per today they are used for much more as driving, riding, jumping, therapy, dressage, rodeo, and the list goes on.
They are gentle beeings, and is perfect family horses, and for beginners. It's important for the breeders that their horses have an honest heart and wants to work, so with effort and knowledge you can easily work your way up competing, making them also fitting an experienced rider/driver.

Normal colors are chestnut, bay, black, grey/white, buckskin and palomino.

Their height range from 15-16.3, but smaller and taller individuals may appear.

Per today, there are about 4-5000 doles left, making them a threatened breed, so their rare coming across other than in their birth country Norway.

If there is anything else you would like to know, don't be shy on contacting us through this page, we'll help you if we can :)

hey :) I get that some dont really know that the photos (or most of them) are not taken by me. All of these images are published here with permission from the owner, and that goes for every single one of them. Facebook is the most simple way to share photos, so the quality for many images is bad due to the reason that they indeed are copied from facebook. I would have gotten far less photos to share with you if every photagorapher where to send me the photos directly by email. The rightful owner also have the right to take the photo back. Just to clear things up :) I can also give you permission to use one of the photos for different reas
